Everything we take on

Every job below is one we do ourselves across Hollywood.

Deck Installation

We build new decks on pressure-treated or engineered framing, with footings poured below grade and joist hangers rated for Florida wind loads. Board spacing and ledger flashing get done to code, not just to look right on install day.

Deck Repair

Soft spots, popped screws, sagging joists and loose stair stringers are the calls we get most. We pull the boards to check what's underneath before we quote it, because a rotten joist needs more than a new board on top.

Deck Staining & Sealing

We pressure wash the deck and let it dry a couple of days before anything goes on it. Penetrating stain holds up better than a film-forming coat once the Florida sun and afternoon rain start working on it.

Custom Deck Design

Multi-level decks, built-in benches, pergolas and railings drawn up around the shape of your yard and how your family actually uses it. We'll sketch it out and price it before any lumber gets ordered.

Composite Decking Installation

Capped composite from brands like Trex and TimberTech won't rot or need restaining, and hidden fastener systems keep the surface free of screw heads. It still needs the same joist spacing and expansion gaps as wood, just fewer of the maintenance headaches.

Deck Railing Installation & Repair

Baluster spacing has to meet the 4-inch sphere code, and we build to that whether it's wood, aluminum or cable rail. Aluminum and stainless hardware hold up better than plain steel this close to the coast.

Deck Resurfacing

If the frame underneath is still sound, we can strip off the old decking and put down new boards without touching the joists or footings. It costs less than a full rebuild and looks like a new deck from the top.

Deck Framing & Structural Repair

Rusted joist hangers, undersized old framing and ledger boards that were never flashed right all show up once we start pulling boards. We rebuild the frame to current wind load requirements, not just patch around it.

Pool Deck Installation

Elevated wood or composite decking around a pool needs a slip-resistant surface and proper drainage so water doesn't sit against the framing. We keep fasteners and hardware rated for constant splash and chlorine exposure.

Deck Demolition & Removal

We tear out the old deck, pull the footings if you're not reusing them, and haul everything away. Most people bundle this with a new installation so there's no gap between the old deck coming down and the new one going up.

How It Works

Four steps, and no surprises in any of them.

01

We come and look

You tell us what you want doing, we look at what is actually there, and we ask the awkward questions early.

02

You get a price

In writing, itemised, free. If something might add cost later we flag it now rather than at the end.

03

We do the work

Same crew throughout. We cover your floors, keep the dust down and tidy up before we leave each day.

04

We walk it with you

You point out anything you are not happy with and we fix it before the invoice, not after.

Common Questions

Things worth asking

Questions that come up once a deck project is underway.

Do I need a permit to build a deck in Broward County?
Most elevated or structural decks in Broward County need a building permit and at least one inspection before the decking goes down. Small ground-level platforms under a certain height sometimes don't, but that depends on the specific municipality's code.
How long does it take to build or repair a deck?
A standard single-level deck usually takes one to two weeks from the first footing to the final board, weather and permit timing aside. A repair job, like replacing rotten joists or a section of railing, often finishes in a day or two.
Can a deck be built to fit a specific budget?
Decking material is usually the biggest lever, since pressure-treated pine costs less per square foot than composite or PVC boards. Size, railing style and features like built-in seating or a pergola can also be scaled up or down to hit a number.
Do you guarantee your deck work?
Workmanship on framing, decking and railings is covered under warranty, and manufacturer warranties on composite decking materials apply separately and typically run around 25 years against fading and staining. Details on both get spelled out in the written quote.
Who do I deal with day to day during the project?
One point of contact handles scheduling and questions for the whole job, rather than switching between office staff and crew. That person is reachable by phone if something comes up on site.
What decking materials do you work with?
Pressure-treated pine, capped composite from brands like Trex and TimberTech, and PVC decking are all common options. Railings can be built in matching wood, aluminum or cable, depending on the look and the budget.
Can I still use my backyard while the deck is being built?
Most of the yard stays usable during construction, since work is contained to the deck footprint and a staging area for materials. Full backyard access usually comes back once decking and railings go in, toward the end of the job.
How should I prepare the yard before deck construction starts?
Clearing furniture, grills and potted plants away from the work area helps the crew get straight to digging footings or pulling old decking. Anything planted close to the house near the ledger board is worth moving if it can be.
What happens if you find rotten framing or bad soil once the old deck comes out?
Once old decking comes off, hidden rot in the ledger board or joists sometimes shows up, and that gets flagged before any new boards go on top of it. Framing repairs get priced separately and explained before work continues, not added to the invoice as a surprise.
How should I maintain a new deck once it's finished?
Pressure-treated wood decks need restaining every two to three years in Florida's sun, sooner if the deck gets a lot of direct exposure. Composite decking just needs regular washing to keep pollen and mildew from building up in the grain.
